Job Description:Job overview We are looking for individuals who are strategic, analytical, have solid business acumen, good communication skills and strong leadership skills. Applicants are required to have three to five years experience of Reservations and Revenue Management. A Finance or Hospitality Management Degree qualification is preferred, however, not essential with previous relevant experience. Provide one reservations point of contact on behalf of hotel. Handle all reservations aspects of a group. Handle room block monitoring, rooming lists, reporting pick up, VIP and upgraded accommodations, client correspondence relating to reservations and other group reservation functions as well as work as a Reservations Agent Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards: Maximize occupancy levels by reviewing and revising revenue strategies Answer telephone inquiries in a timely and courteous manner. Request sufficient information from the caller to be able to forward the call to the appropriate person Process all incoming reservations received via rooming lists, mailed or in-house correspondence Mail confirmation Participate in the organization of hotel promotional activities Previous experience with reservations in the hotel/leisure sector Build strong relationships with customers, Guests and Team Members in order to gain full understanding of their needs and work to serve them effectively Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate a high-performing team positioned to exceed targets Strong analytical skills to understand key business indicators and competitive trends and develop approaches to these challenges Excellent selling capabilities and the ability and desire to coach selling techniques Monitor accuracy of group blocks including cutoff date, pick up, suite blocks, rates etc Set up a file trace system for each group with regular documented conversations with clients, convention service managers and reservation manager Review rooming lists for accuracy in format and billing and ensure prompt processing Identify, block and process staff and VIP lists with each group Ensure appropriate information is available for individual call-in groups Monitor room pickup and communicate with management Block special request reservations and suites File daily reservations and other correspondence Answer questions concerning reservations for employees of other departments including but not limited to Sales, Convention Services, Executive Office, and Front Office Perform any other job duties as assigned Education and Experience Hotel Management degree / 3 year Hotel management Diploma Related experience in the, sales and marketing,/ Minimum of one year in hotel front office experience MBA in Hospitality /Marketing/General will be preferable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Impeccable English verbal and written communication skills 3 years previous associate management experience Computer proficiency and navigation with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel and department specific programs Possess the ability to work independently, as a contributing team member, and problem solve Excellent telephone voice in terms of tone, clarity, pronunciation, and proper use of grammar Strong listening skills Ability to work in a changing environment Flexible schedule including weekends, evening/early morning hours and holidays Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace (English) Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process Must have excellent interpersonal and sales-related skills
